BARRY LETTS: 1925 - 2009 |
|
|

It was with the greatest of
sadness on Friday that we learnt of the death of Barry
Letts.
Fantom Films had had the
pleasure of working with Barry a few months ago at our
‘Who & Them’ event at the Cockpit Theatre,
celebrating his era of Doctor Who. This in turn led to
us to working closer with him on the publication of his
autobiography ‘Who & Me’.
Barry’s family have been in
contact with us and it is their firm wish that the book
is still published and goes ahead as planned. However,
understandably due to circumstances, it is likely that
the book will be held up for a week or two whilst we
make additions to the book and reflect on recent events.
No copies of the hardback
edition were signed by Barry before his death, but the
edition will still go ahead (dual signed by Terrance
Dicks and Katy Manning) with a print of Barry’s
autograph on the title page. The hardback edition will
include a transcription of an interview taken at the
‘Who & Them’ event; what was sadly to be Barry’s last
convention appearance.
Fantom Films would like to
pass on our condolences to Barry’s family and colleagues
on the show. We will of course update you on the status
of the book as and when we have more information.

LATEST AUDIO BOOK NEWS |
|
|
Fantom Films are pleased to be able to
announce that we will be releasing a further five audio books later this
year...
October
will see the release of the hotly anticipated audio book reading of Joseph
Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla, which is performed by actress Tracey
Childs. Tracey joins us after finishing a sell-out run playing Martha to
Matthew Kelly’s George in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at London’s
Trafalgar Studios.
Carmilla was published in 1872 heavily
influencing Bram Stoker's Dracula some twenty-five years later! In 1970,
Hammer adapted it for film, entitled The Vampire Lovers starring Ingrid Pitt
in the lead role.
The audio book adaptation of Mary Tamm's
autobiography will be released this October on 3-CDs and download priced
£13.99!
Following on from the success of last year's H.
P. Lovecraft short story collections, Fantom Films can now reveal the
publication of three new releases voiced by Fantom Film's regular Phil
Reynolds.
Further information and cover art will be
released soon!
