The eighth and ninth volumes of the acclaimed series, Time Hunter have now been released; Peculiar Lives (presented over five audio discs) is written by Philip Purser-Hallard and read by John Leeson; while Deus Le Volt (triple disc release) is written by Jon De Burgh Miller and read by Terry Molloy.

CHRISTMAS SHIPPING DATES & LIMITED STOCK

 

Fantom can confirm the last postage dates for Christmas 2011; overseas customers need to purchase their items by Friday 9th December, while customers from the UK have until Friday 16th December.

 

We will continue to post items up until 22nd December, when the office will close until we return in 2012 on 2nd January.

 

During December we will be opening our advent calendar to reveal some 24 hour bargains including inexpensive and free downloads, sale items, giveaways, new videos and specially signed merchandise.

 

As the festive period approaches, a number of titles are becoming limited, if you would like to purchase any of the below titles in time for Christmas we urge customers to order sooner rather than later to guarantee stock. Titles include;

DADDY'S GIRL IN THE CAN!

 

This week Deborah Watling entered the studio to record the audio book version of her autography Daddy's Girl.

 

From her early successes in series such as The Invisible Man, The Power Game and Out of the Unknown, through to her iconic role as the scream queen Victoria Waterfield in Doctor Who, film roles opposite Cliff Richard and David Essex, and as the notorious ‘Naughty’ Norma in Danger UXB, Deborah has endeared herself to a broad spectrum of fans.

AUDIO THIS AUTUMN - RELEASE DATES REVISED

 

Unfortunately due to illness, it has been necessary to re-schedule some of the forthcoming audio productions; Wilkie Collins - Supernatural Stories, Time Hunter - Peculiar Lives will now be released at the end of October. The original release dates for Ray Brooks: Learning My Lines and Fight for the Remote 1:2 remain the same, and will be released this month. This means that Time Hunter - Deus Le Volt will now be released in November, and Theatre Classics: Gaslight will be published in December via this website and in the shops in February. If anyone has an questions about these date changes, or their existing orders please don't hesitate to contact us.

AUNTIE'S CHARLIE & OPERATION LUNA NOW AVAILABLE

 

Charles Chilton's Auntie's Charlie and Operation Luna is now available to purchase exclusively from Fantom Films.

 

Charles joined us for a special launch in Chiswick last month attended by over 70 fans, family and friends to discuss his work.

Our cameras were there to film the event and you will see the results of this on our you tube channel over the next couple of months, however in the meantime you can preview the first chapter of Auntie's Charlie here.

CHARLES CHILTON: AUNTIE'S CHARLIE

 

Fantom is very pleased to reveal that this August we will be publishing the autobiography of producer and writer Charles Chilton.

 

Most famous for his work in radio and the classic serials Journey into Space, Riders of the Range and Space Force, Auntie's Charlie discusses his life from growing up on the streets of 1920s St. Pancras, to early years at the BBC working for the Gramophone Library to writing the infamous production Oh What A Lovely War for the Theatre Workshop at Stratford East.

 

Auntie's Charlie will be released in limited edition hardback; and anyone who pre-orders this volume will receive a ticket to our exclusive book launch on 20th August 2011.

EVENTS LATEST!

 

Following on from the news that our event MEL-O-DRAMA sold out within 14 hours, we can now reveal that Bonnie Langford will also be visiting Sheffield to meet fans on 13th August at the leading specialist store Galaxy Four.

 

The guest list for PANDORICA continues to grow with new additions; writers Mark Morris and James Goss; and Simon Fisher-Becker who returns as Dorium in the forthcoming mid-season finale 'A Good Man Goes to War'! This one day event takes place at The Old Joint Stock Theatre on 16th July 2011. Tickets now available to purchase.

GODFREY'S GHOST - NOW RELEASED!!

FULL STEAM AHEAD... THE GHOST TRAIN RELEASED!

 

Fantom Films’ latest Theatre Classic: The Ghost Train has now been released. Originally written in 1923 by Dad's Army actor Arnold Ridley, who was inspired to write it after becoming stranded overnight at Mangotsfield railway station in Bristol. It took him only a week to complete, but it played to packed houses at St Martin's Theatre for two years and has become a staple of the British theatre for many years to come. In 1941 it was made into a movie with Arthur Askey.

 

Our new full cast audio adaptation remains faithful to original text and stars James McNicholas as Teddy Deakin and Julia Burchell as Julia Price with Katy Manning as Miss Bourne as well as Fantom regulars Luke Harrison, Laura James, Ian Fairbairn, Sean Connolly and Ian Brooker.

 

The audio play was launched at Samuel French’s Theatre Bookshop in London on 11th September. The launch was not only attended by members of the cast but Arnold Ridley’s son Nicholas. Watch out for a video podcast featuring interviews with Nicolas Ridley and all the cast coming soon to our YouTube channel!

FRANK JARVIS: 1940 - 2010

 

Fantom Films is sad to learn that actor Frank Jarvis has passed away. "We first meet Frank at our Key to Time event in 2008," explains producer Dexter O'Neill. "The following year we invited him to take the role of Engstrad in our audio adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts. It was a real pleasure to work with Frank and he regaled myself and the cast with some fantastic showbiz stories." We send our best wishes to Frank's family and friends.
