M. R. James is one of the finest English language ghostwriters ever published. These short stories are not only classics of their genre, but are outstanding examples of beautifully paced understated terror and sociological horror - reaching to the dark expanse of the unconscious mind.

Volume Two of 'Tales of the Supernatural' features the stories: 'The Ash Tree', 'A View from a Hill', 'The Tractate Middoth' and 'Canon Alberic's Scrapbook' read by Gareth David-Lloyd, Ian Fairbairn and Phil Reynolds.

M. R. James is "...gifted with an almost diabolic power of calling horror by gentle steps from the midst of prosaic daily life. Dr. James has, it is clear, an intelligent and scientific knowledge of human nerves and feelings; and knows just how to apportion statement, imagery, and subtle suggestions in order to secure the best results with his readers."

- H.P. Lovecraft

Gareth David-Lloyd has recently starred in the hit BBC 3 series Torchwood. Before playing Ianto Jones, Gareth trained at the National Youth Theatre, and his credits include the role of Sebastian in 'Twelfth Night' as well as television appearances in 'Mine all Mine', 'Absolute Power' and 'Rosemary & Thyme'.

Veteran actor Ian Fairbairn is best known for his appearances in Timeslip as Alpha 4 and Dr. Frazer, while also starring in four classic Doctor Who stories. Other credits include: 'Stand up Nigel Barton', 'Emergency ward 10' and 'The Professionals'.

Phil Reynolds is an experienced stage actor, recent credits include Lt. Sam Weinberg in 'A Few Good Men' and Freddy in Steve Martin's 'Picasso at the Lapin Agile'. Recent film projects include 'So What?' and 'The Limes' (a story set in the cut throat world of ice cream men, inspired by Shakespeare's Hamlet). Phil can also be heard on several computer games, theme park rides and guided tours!

The collection will include the first part of a MP3 interview (accessible by PC and MAC)  with Ian Fairbairn  along with PDFs of the stories featured on this release.

The collection has been released on double audio CD priced only £12.99; available exclusively through this website until it's book store launch in October 2007.
